AROKSCON 2026: 2nd State Conference of AROK Held at JNMC, Belagavi

The Association of Radiation Oncologists of Karnataka (AROK) held its 2nd State Conference, AROKSCON 2026, on 16 and 17 May 2026 at the KLE Centenary Convention Hall, Belagavi. The conference was hosted by the Department of Radiation Oncology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER), whose department functions at the 300-bed KLE Sampatkumar S. Shivanagi Cancer Hospital, a regional hub for cancer care in North Karnataka.

This year’s theme, “Radiotherapy in the Real World: From Evidence to Everyday Practice,” focused on translating scientific evidence and technological advances into practical clinical care. The programme brought together radiation oncologists, medical physicists, residents and radiation therapists, with expert sessions on real-world radiotherapy challenges, an interactive workshop on artificial intelligence in radiotherapy, and sessions celebrating the multidisciplinary radiotherapy team.

Young oncologists were at the heart of the meeting, with research presentations, a PG Quiz Competition and a Radiotherapy Reels contest giving residents and early-career radiation oncologists a platform to showcase their work and engage with senior faculty. The conference was accredited with 4 KMC CME credit points, and the AROK Annual General Body Meeting was held on the evening of 16 May.

The conference was led by Organising Chairman Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed and Organising Secretary Dr. Sapna K., with Joint Secretaries Dr. Raghavendra Sagar and Dr. Rohit Patil and Treasurer Mr. Boopalan Balaji, under the guidance of the AROK State Executive Committee headed by President Dr. Siddanna R. Palled and Secretary Dr. R. A. Sunil.

AROK thanks the KLE Society, KAHER and JNMC leadership, the organising team, faculty, sponsors and every delegate for making AROKSCON 2026 a memorable success.
